What are gel candles?

​

Gel candles are a type of candle that is made from a gel wax. Gel wax is a clear wax made from non-toxic ingredients and is a combination of polymer resin and mineral oil, which gives it a clear, jelly-like appearance. Gel candles are known for their long burn time and their strong scent throw, which we can proudly confirm.

Why is my gel candle not achieving full melt pool? Will it create tunnelling?

​

Gel candles burn more slowly than other types of candles and require a higher temperature to melt. This means that the gel wax in the areas of the candle that are further from the flame will not melt as quickly, if at all.

No, even though gel wax not always creates a full melt pool, it won't cause any tunnelling issues. This is one of the perks of gel wax.

My candle smells different when it's cold than when it's hot. Why?

​

A good fragrance oil is a bit like music; lots of notes combine to make the music. Each fragrance oil we use has 'hot' and 'cold' scent throws. Testing the fragrance notes of your candle on 'cold sniff' will not give you the full range of fragrance notes. Burn your candle or a wax melt for at least 30 minutes to experience the full extend of your fragrance.

How many 'burns' will I get from my wax melt?

​

This all depends on the fragrance oil. A perfume inspired scent will tend to be heavier in the top notes and the scent will be lost sooner than a more complex fragrance oil that has a mix of top, mid and base notes. Generally speaking we find that our wax melts will last for three tealights, some even more.

What are you using to colour the candles?

​

Not all our candles are coloured. We use water transfer paper to give it vibrancy and achieve different designs. Sometimes, we use liquid candle dye and a pinch of micca powder that adds this pearly glow to the gel.  However, the scented gel wax doesn't consist of micca and colour dye to ensure best possible wick performance.

Do you accept custom orders?

Yes, you can unleash your inner designer with our Genie section! Craft your own custom candle by choosing a theme, colour, and fragrance that speaks to you. We'll ask a few questions to understand your vision, then email you unique design options. It's like having your own personal genie, granting wishes (wicks!) until your perfect candle comes to life.

Are your products vegan-friendly?

​

Yes, the gel wax and fragrance oils we use are vegan friendly and cruelty free.

​

How soon do you dispatch after my order has been placed?

​

Our candles are made to order to ensure strong scent throw and good wick performance. We always try to dispatch within three working days. We however cannot take responsibility for any delays caused by Royal Mail.
