Our Story

Hello, Fantasy Lovers!

My name is Monika and I'm the founder of Kingdom of Candles.

Myths and legends have always danced in my head, ever since I was a kid devouring fantasy books. Moving to Scotland only amplified the magic. The tales of pixies washing their clothes in the eerily green An Lochan Uaine became my muse, a constant reminder of the fantastical just beyond the ordinary.

Curled up with a book one rainy evening, a description of a magical garden ignited a spark. I craved a tangible piece of that magic, a "portkey" not of place, but of mood and imagination, through scent and vibrant colours. Disappointed by the lack of such items online, I, a proud Sagittarius fuelled by fire, decided to create my own.

Experimenting with waxes, fragrances, and colours, I obsessed over crafting a candle that would captivate, transport you to an enchanting space. Finally, after countless trials, my unique candles were born. Here, the magic truly began to take form. I chose vibrant colours for the designs, letting the light dance through the transparent gel base. No labels were needed – the colours would speak for themselves, taking you on a scented adventure. They were a hit with friends and family, and that's when I knew I had to share them with the world.

Kingdom of Candles is my dream come true. It allows me to create, explore mythology, and bring a flicker of magic into people's homes. With my family, both human and (believe it or not) my ever-curious ginger feline companion, and giant African snail, by my side, I'm determined to make Kingdom of Candles a place you never want to leave.
